His Holiness the IXth Kyabgon Jedrungpa

You, the shining star of glorious compassionate heart,

Fulfilling all of our aspirations, spontaneously accomplished as the great throne holder,

Your Holiness Kyabgon Jedrung Rinpoche, may your life remain firm

And may the glory of auspiciousness beautify the universe!

His Holiness the IXth Kyabgon Jedrung Yangsi Rinpoche, Ogyen Sangay Ngudup Garwang Rigzin Trinlay Lhungyi Drub Pe De Palsangpo, or Ogyen Trinlay Lhundup, was born with miraculous signs in the year 2007, June 19, as the son of His Eminence Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche and Khandro Tenzin Choeden.

When Ogyen Trinlay Lhundup was four years old, H.H. Kathok Sangay Tsering Rinpoche sent symbolic offerings of enlightened body, speech and mind plus a handwritten prophecy letter, dated June 10th, 2012, to His Eminence Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche and Khandro Tenzin Choeden, recognizing their son, Ogyen Trinlay Lhundup, as His Holiness the IXth Kyabgon Jedrungpa. As His Holiness was attending nursery school in Nepal at the time, both parents decided to keep the prophecy letter confidential and continued to send His Holiness to Lincoln School in Kathmandu.

Two years later, on November 26, 2014, His Eminence Pal Tul Thubsang Rinpoche conducted the sacred robe ceremony and offered long life initiation to His Holiness the IXth Kyabgon Jedrung Yangsi Rinpoche at Shyalpa Monastery. One week later, His Holiness the IXth Kyabgon Jedrung Yangsi Rinpoche appeared publicly for the first time in Hong Kong on December 11, 2014, at the event for the Mahasiddha Sanctuary for Universal Peace.
