Wencheng Gongzhu International Foundation
In 2009, Wencheng Gongzhu International Foundation was established in Hong Kong to support the compassionate activities of His Eminence Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche throughout Asia. Subsequently, branches were opened in Malaysia and Taiwan. The organization is named in honor of the legendary Chinese Princess Wencheng Gongzhu, who helped to introduce Buddhism into Tibet and devoted her life to the spiritual and material well-being of the Tibetan people. Embodying the spirit of Princess Wencheng Gongzhu, the Foundation's mission is to share the healing message of the Buddha with all those who seek to attain inner peace, harmony, and liberation through compassion and clear inner wisdom, and realize their full potential to live with perfect freedom and fulfillment. Rinpoche has devoted students and friends and ongoing programs in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Bhutan, and Australia.
Under the guidance and direction of His Eminence Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche, the Foundation organizes teachings, meditation retreats, empowerments, charity events and pilgrimages. It facilitates fundraising programs to defray the ongoing costs of maintaining Shyalpa Monastery and Nunnery and its 200 monks and nuns.
Whecheng Gongzhu has key roles in the planning, administration, and implementation of the Universal Peace Project for the Mahasiddha Sanctuary for Universal Peace in Lumbini, Nepal, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
